Gather Group Prayer Guide

As we are planning our Gather Groups, we can expect that we will come up against resistance - which is why it is so important to get on our knees and pray. When we declare the truth of who God is and what He says, we can live in certainty of His Word rather than yielding to fear. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We hope you will use the following prompts and scripture to pray over your people, city, church, and our world as we prepare for Gather25.

Courageous Gather Group Hosts,

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons we have against evil. When we pray, we remember who we are and whose we are, and our hearts are strengthened to fight our battles with renewed vigor and hope.

The Enemy seeks to ‘steal, kill, and destroy’ (John 10:10), but Jesus gives us a better way. As we are planning our Gather Groups, we can expect that we will come up against resistance - which is why it is so important to get on our knees and pray daily.

Pray that God would bring to mind friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members you could invite to Gather25. Pray that God would give us kingdom-minded boldness to leverage our influence and ask those He brings to mind.

ROMANS 10:14-15

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Pray that God would go before you and open the hearts of those you invite, and that they would accept your invitation.

EPHESIANS 1:16-18

“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints...”

Pray that God would transform your heart and the hearts of others, near and far, through our time together at Gather25.

Pray that He would ignite your desire to share Christ with the lost, disciple the younger people in your life, and live each day with a renewed vigor to be committed to God’s word.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

JEREMIAH 20:9

“If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.”

Pray that God would use Gather25 to reach the lost and bring them to repentance, relationship, and a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

EPHESIANS 2:8-9

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

ROMANS 10:9

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Pray that the global Church of Jesus Christ would be changed from the inside out, unified, and catalyzed to go out into the world and reach the 5.5 billion people who don’t know Jesus.

2 PETER 3:9

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

MATTHEW 28:19-20

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
